The lead singer of Eurovision<\/a> winners M\u00e5neskin did not take drugs during the grand final, an inquiry by organisers has concluded.<\/p>

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said Damiano David, frontman of the Italian rock group, had returned a negative result in a drugs test since the event on Saturday.<\/p>

The band, who won with the song Zitti E Buoni<\/a>, had \u201cstrongly refuted the allegations of drug use\u201d that emerged on social media after David appeared to bend over a table in the contest\u2019s green room while on camera.<\/p>

A statement from the EBU said that following the allegations, as requested by the Italian delegation, it had conducted \u201ca thorough review of the facts\u201d, which included checking all available footage.<\/p>

Capturing what many felt, he said the victory was a fresh start for Italy. \u201cIt was a very difficult year for us,\u201d the reporter, Simone Zani, said, talking about the devastating impact of the coronavirus. Explaining through his tears, he said, \u201cWe are from the north of Italy, from Bergamo,\u201d an Italian city with record numbers of Covid-19 deaths<\/a>. \u201cTo be No. 1 now, this is a new start for us, a new beginning.\u201d<\/p>

ICIRadioCanada<\/a> – Un groupe de musique rock de l’Italie a remport\u00e9 le concours Eurovision dimanche. Les quatre membres du groupe rock M\u00e5neskin ont dam\u00e9 le pion aux traditionnelles ballades, paillettes et rythmes disco.<\/p>

Il s’est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 dans un ar\u00e9na de Rotterdam aux Pays-Bas, devant un public restreint et sous des r\u00e8gles tr\u00e8s strictes li\u00e9es aux mesures sanitaires. Les 3500 spectateurs et spectatrices ont d\u00fb obtenir un r\u00e9sultat n\u00e9gatif au test de la COVID-19 pour voir les finalistes sur sc\u00e8ne.<\/p>

La victoire du groupe M\u00e5neskin procure un troisi\u00e8me titre \u00e0 l’Italie \u00e0 ce concours de musique tr\u00e8s populaire.
