Ghost bike to honour cyclist fatally struck at busy Montreal intersection<\/strong><\/p>

CTVNews – Friends,\u00a0concerned residents, and family members of a cyclist struck and killed last week at a busy Montreal intersection gathered Sunday to honour his life and to call for action on bike safety.\u00a0 Montreal bike safetey advocacy group\u00a0V\u00e9lo fant\u00f4me installed its 15th memorial “ghost bike” — a white bicycle — to serve as a cenotaphe for\u00a0Andrea Rovere, who died following an accident at Park Street and Mount Royal Avenue.\u00a0On Sept. 27, at around\u00a03:30 p.m.,\u00a0police received several 911 calls to report a truck driver allegedly hit the cyclist and fled the scene.\u00a0<\/p>

O meglio, magari te lo aspetti, vista l\u2019assoluta incuranza e il non rispetto delle regole stradali, anche quelle pi\u00f9 elementari, con cui certi automobilisti e camionisti affrontano giornalmente le strade di Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>

Andrea Rovere,<\/strong>\u00a0scienziato-ricercatore di 31 anni, originario di Fiumicino (Roma), a Montr\u00e9al dal 2015 per un Dottorato in Scienze dell\u2019energia e dei materiali e per un Postdottorato, sempre sullo stesso tema, presso l\u2019INRS-EMT (Institut national de recherche scientifique \u2013 Centre Energie, Mat\u00e9riaux et T\u00e9l\u00e9communications) di Varennes, ha trovato la morte nel primo pomeriggio dello scorso 27 settembre mentre transitava in bicicletta all\u2019incrocio tra le avenue du Parc e Mont-Royal.<\/p>
