And it is one in which Team GB can narrowly grab fourth place, over and over again. It is wonderful to leave something behind, a legacy that will benefit humanity. It is called \u201cbogganeering\u201d.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"c78da388-aca2-4d2e-9741-8242100eee0a\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.guim.co.uk\/img\/media\/ae7eb28c1a06086c822c4cda1ebce1479be7266e\/0_0_1401_614\/master\/1401.jpg?width=445&amp;quality=85&amp;dpr=1&amp;s=none\" alt=\"Travel-South-Tyrol-sledging-\"\/><\/figure><p>It begins with a trip to Italy, the German-speaking part. That is an important factor. S\u00fcdtirol has not always been an enthusiastic member of the Italian republic. Tucked up in the extreme north-east of the country, its snow-capped mountains are dotted with farms where the old men still wear Tirolean hats and greet strangers with a cheery \u201c<em>Servus<\/em>!\u201d, like Bavarians do.
