Food & Wine – Visitors to either Sicily or Sardinia, Italy’s two great island destinations, don’t have to travel far once they arrive to find some of the country’s best wineries and best vino-tourism options. In Sicily, there’s Mt. Etna in the east, which has over the past decade become one of Italy’s most exciting wine destinations; Marsala in the west, with its centuries-long history of great sweet wines; and Vittoria, known for its Nero D’Avola reds, in the south. Vines are grown nearly everywhere here.
