Christmas in Locorotondo peeps very early, with grandiose preparations for what is considered the most popular holiday of the year: from November to finish until 21 February 2023. Every corner of the historic center, dominated by the characteristic houses with pointed roofs called cummerse, it is decorated with many decorations including snow crystals, bows, stars and Christmas balls. December in Locorotondo
Those who go to Locorotondo in December will be able to visit the huts of the inevitable Christmas market and the great Artistic Nativity of the Notarnicola family, a monumental work that extends over 100 square meters. There is also the Living Nativity at the Parish of San Giorgio Martire on January 1st.
One of the most evocative Christmas events in Locorotondo is the Night of Candles, programmed for which is very reminiscent of Swedish traditions and whose origins date back to the sixteenth century: in which the lights in the center will turn off to make room for candles and children’s parades who will accompany you inside the Mother Church.
