Last Wednesday was the official opening of the Italian Contemporary Film Festival, held at the Cinema du Musée in Montréal. Organized by ICFF Canada in support of the Consulate General of Italy, it is part of the Fare Cinema festival, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The reception included Rocco Papaleo, the presentation of the 2024 program, and the screening of the award-winning film “Nata per te” with director Fabio Mollo in attendance.

The festival will take place in the heart of Montreal’s Little Italy at Dante Park every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. from July 3 to August 28 and will be enhanced by mini concerts, circus performances and dance shows.

Thanks to the presence of directors and actors directly from Italy at the screenings, the organizers also intend to highlight a series of major anniversaries: 100 years since the birth of Marcello Mastroianni, 30 since the death of Massimo Troisi and 100 since the passing of Giacomo Puccini.
