Schengenvisainfo – Travellers from Singapore will no longer be permitted to travel to Italy for non-essential purposes as the latter’s authorities have placed Singapore on the list of countries that are highly affected by the COVID-19 disease, also known as List E.

According to the latest update made by the Italian Ministry of Health, the new tightened rules against arrivals from Singapore will remain effective until January 31, 2022, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

Nonetheless, the rules might get extended even after January if the COVID-19 situation requires it.

The rules that apply to countries that are placed on List E establish that travellers from Singapore can enter Italy only for work, health or study reasons, as well as other essential purposes.

However, those who are permitted entry to Italy after providing an essential purpose are still required to meet several other entry rules.

Persons who reach Italy from Singapore are required to complete a digital Passenger Locator Form. Moreover, everyone must present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test.

In order for the tests to be considered valid, the PCR test should be taken within 72 hours before arrival, whereas the rapid antigen test should be taken 24 before entry to Italy.

Furthermore, everyone must notify the health authorities on their entry and reach their final destination by using private transport.
