As part of the upcoming edition of ItalfestMTL, the National Congress of Italian-Canadians (Quebec Region), in collaboration with the SDC Petite Italie, is launching a call for artists under the project “On the Road to ItalfestMTL.”
We invite musicians of Italian origin or with a connection to Italian culture to submit their applications for a unique opportunity to perform ahead of the festival and potentially be featured in its official programming. Selected artists will have the opportunity to perform outdoors in Little Italy Park on June 7 or June 14, 2026.
On this occasion, each artist will present a short set of 2 to 3 songs (covers or original compositions). Following these performances, one or more artists will be selected by a jury to join the official ItalfestMTL 2026 program, which includes a full 50-minute performance during the festival snd increased visibility, including inclusion in all promotional materials related to the program and their performance. The jury will be composed of the festival’s executive direction, artistic project coordination, representatives of the organizing body, as well as members of the SDC Petite Italie.
Submission deadline: April 19, 2026. Artists will receive a response within the week following the deadline, confirming whether they have been selected to perform on one of the two proposed dates. Artists who go on to perform as part of ItalfestMTL will receive an honorarium, determined based on their experience and the size of the group.
